It takes about five minutes online, then a short visit to a hub. Here's exactly what to expect.

Pick your dates

Reserve anywhere from 2 days to 1 month, any time between June 30, 2026 and June 30, 2027. You can change or cancel free of charge.

Choose your hub

Pick up at Daubenspeck Park in Bingen or Whitson Elementary in White Salmon — whichever's closest to you.

Tell us about you

Name, address, phone, date of birth. We need to confirm you're 18 or older and live in Bingen or White Salmon — that's the program's eligibility.

Upload proof you live here

A photo or PDF of anything with your name and a Bingen/White Salmon address — a utility bill, a statement, a piece of mail, your ID. That's how we confirm you're a local resident. We keep it secure and delete it after verification.

Sign the liability waiver

A short, plain-language agreement covering where you can ride and what happens if you crash. Standard stuff for any bike rental.

You'll get an email confirming your reservation and the exact pickup time.

Quick safety briefing

Plan for about 30 minutes at pickup — bike controls, helmet fit, lock use, a short test ride, the safety quiz, and the paperwork. Available in English or Spanish.

You're rolling. Take groceries, drop kids at school, run errands, explore the Gorge — whatever you need.

What's included

The bike — your choice of standard step-through or passenger (carries one passenger)
A helmet sized to fit — included, and required whenever you ride
A heavy-duty lock — we'll show you how to use it correctly
Lights, fenders, and basics — already on the bike
A rack-top bag, on request, for groceries and gear
Bilingual support by phone and text, 8am–5pm, every day

Who can borrow

You're 18 years old or older.
You live in Bingen, White Salmon, or a surrounding Klickitat County community in Washington.
You can show a document with your name and a local address (bill, statement, ID, or mail).

That's it. No credit check. No income requirement. No fees.

What it costs you

Nothing. Gorge Rides is grant-funded — borrowing is free, with no fees and no deposit.
